Most Anticipated 2012 Sailor Moon Toy Release

There are in total around 100 new Sailor Moon merchandise being released by GE Animation. Based on hundreds of fans reactions collected by my tumblr, it seems the Star Locket necklace is the most highly anticipated 2012 Sailor Moon release! At this moment the price is unknown, but here is what we do know: 1.75″ in size, it doesn’t open (sadly!) and it doesn’t play music. GE has stated to expect it in stock by late April/early May 2012.       Actually yes! I have communicated with GE and they said there is a delay and it could take as late as September for the release. BUT it is still happening!

      a collector friend of mine called GE (the manufacturer) and asked for details and that’s what the employee told her

        Damn. The worst part is that I’m still going to hold out hope for it opening, only to be depressed once it’s confirmed that it doesn’t.

    I’m so excited for this new stuff! Though I do wish the locket at least opened. Where will I be able to buy this new stuff?

      Once it’s available, it’ll most likely show up on ebay and other local anime shops. I’ve listed a few online shops that sell the new stuff on the FAQ page 🙂

    That greatly annoys me that it doesn’t play music. I mean, the least they could do is make it open! Ten years of SM not in North America and the first couple times we’ve had merchandise we didn’t get one. Now we finally have it and we WOULD finally get a Star Locket that does not even play music much less open.

    Plus I noticed the paint job looks incomplete and not so good.
    (Though that might just be glare from it, I can’t tell.)

    I’m kind of happy that we have it at all and there are more important things to worry about in life, but I guess it’s a bitter sweet kind of situation. Eh, I’m really just happy I got my hands on even an SM t-shirt. (It’s a little snug on me since it’s in a juniors size, but it’s better then nothing.)

    Anyway, all that said, I do like the locket, really. I just REALLY wish it were more interactive. If it were, I would buy two (one to collect and one to have out to wear/goof off with), but as it stands I’m going to have to think about buying a non-working locket. Seems like a bit of a waste of money to me is all. (Then again I am thrifty, but I’ll probably end up buying it whatever I say!)
