    Hi, is JList reliable on their preorders? I’ve been reading many poor reviews about them. I want to order the Moon Miracle Romance Pointer Pen ~ Sailor Moon from JList since it’s out of stock everywhere else it seems.

        Thanks for the reply! :] Now I’m thinking of ordering some of the mini plush along with the pointer pen, since it’s the same shipping cost 😛

        Another quick question, do you know the differences between the three stock statuses?
        1. Number in stock: #
        2. This item is in stock in Japan
        3. This item can be ordered

        I’m a little iffy about #3, because how long will it take to order?

    If the goggle yen to dollars guide is to be believed, that wallet is close to $200 dollars. Is that right? That seems crazy. I mean, it’s cute and I totally want it, I adore the snap being the crystal compact, but if 19,440 really is $193 then that’s too rich for my blood.

      Yeah I think that’s about right without adding s/h. It’s made of real leather (cow) and it’s merchandise targeting a specific fandom so I’m considering that’s the reason for the price. It is a bit rich for my blood also especially since I would feel it be crazy for me to spend that much and not use it (I like to buy and display my SM merchandise). It’s really cute but I wish they could make a cheaper alternative.

    Does anyone have experience with biginjap? I see they have the newest pointer set available for reserve so I’m curious if anyone has used them.

      You can definitely try but just to let you know, they accepted orders for the makeup compact and canceled everyone’s orders when release date came and screwed over everyone. They accepted orders and took people’s money for the nail polish set knowing they won’t be able to mail them (since it’s flammable) but still took everyone’s money and when release came they refunded via “store credit”.
      I don’t support these practices and that’s why they will never be listed on this guide.

    FYI- I know you posted some links to some of the Peach John items that are back in stock at JList on your tumblr page, but I just wanted to let you know that if you go on the official Peach John webpage, everything but the costume lingerie sets are in stock for all sizes (as of right now.)
    I finally was able to get the navy PJs this way. You have to use a deputy service, which may deter some people… but if anyone is like me and was DYING for those PJs this is another option!!!

      Well, scratch that. The deputy service I used was really slow in ordering them so they sold out and they had to refund me my money.
      I hope they go back in stock.

    Do not buy from AmiAmi.com . I bought from them several time and in all occasions I received substandard items. Either there are paint chips , or substandard paint job (I compared them with what others have (Japanese local web sites), or worse missing / loose parts or broken parts . They do not do replacements or contact the toy manufacturer for you; at most if you are lucky , you get several hundred yens for compensation. As far as quality is concerned , I suspect they sell substandard or rejects to foreign buyers and sell the good ones to Japanese locals. Also, their lower than usual prices are probably because of lower quality and if you add the total cost (item price + shipping), it is just the same or more expensive than other online shops , so beware the seemingly lower item prices. I stopped buying from them as I received all these substandard items . If you care about quality, do not buy from them.

      They tend to remove the page when they run out of stock. When/if they restock, they put the page back up again. If you pre-ordered, you should be fine.

    Any idea if the pointers and pens will return? I had no choice but to miss out and I’m sick of people on eBay already inflating all the new merchandise. Bad enough with the old stuff. ._.

      I don’t even see the stuff on e-bay. I stupidly waited but I do really want the smaller pens!! They sold out much quicker than I thought they would. I am constantly checking for them to come back in stock… I’d buy Venus and Moon Spiral in a heartbeat. (If only I could afford them all!)

    Is jlist reliable? I have heard about people having problems with them – like very slow shipping or items missing or replaced in their orders, so I wanted to find out before I order from them. Anyone have direct experience with them? If so, what are they like? Thanks!

      Personally I find them reliable, haven’t had any problems with my orders and they responded to me when I have questions. I’m sure every place has occasional problems though.

    Based on your own collection preferences, if you had a choice to choose between the Sailor Moon Miracle Romance Makeup Compact or the toy version of the same brooch, which would you choose?

    I personally like all the toys but the makeup compact is pretty tempting!

        This made me go back and look at the actual dimensions of the Makeup Compact. It says it’s only 70mm on the Bandai site… that seems awfully small to me! (about 2 3/4 inches)

        How does that compare to the original toy? How big do you think Sailor Moon’s would actually be if it was real?

        I am kind of disappointed… but glad I read that it was smaller… I had something different in my mind and was ready to spring for it! Maybe I’ll just wait and see if they release a Proplica version *crosses fingers*

    Would you be able to update sometimes in the future where you can buy these items /in/ Japan? I’ll be there Jan~Feb and most of these items will be on the shelves, so maybe even some guidance would be greatly appreciated 🙂

    (Just exploring is fun too! If I find stores when I’m there I’ll pass it on. I have a feeling don quixote will have a lot of these items.)

        Late reply, but I’m in Tokyo at the moment and have been scouring all over for the new merchandise!

        I’ve found the mini make up plate gashapon charms all over the place- the gashapon floor in Yodobashi Camera in Shinjuku, Yamashiroya in Ueno and the ACOS in Ikebukuro. I’ve also seen the first series gashapon set (Sailor Moon/Sailor V/Neptune/Uranus/Chibi Moon) in the BIC Camera in Akasaka and the Tuxedo Mask figures in quite a few places.

        The figurarts poseable figures I found in a couple of toy stores- Kiddyland in Harajuku, Yamashiroya and Animate in Ikebukuro/Shibuya. Kiddyland also had the Luna/Artemis mugs, bento boxes, chopsticks, nail sets, makeup, plushies and some of the iPhone cases.

        The one place where I really struck gold however was the Mandarake chain of manga stores- they have stock of a lot of Sailor Moon goods, both vintage and the new release items. The Nakano location had the greatest variety, and best of all it was located in a mall that was full of other anime/manga shops that also had SM goods available, especially the gashapon collections. They also had some of the more expensive Premium Bandai items (I saw the compacts and the time key necklace). Mandarake also have a website and have recently started taking overseas orders, if that helps.

        This comment was too late for the OP, but hopefully it’ll help other fans visiting Japan in the future!

    Do you know when the official pre-order for the cresent wand will be? I’m a little hesitant to order from J-list at that price, that doesn’t include shipping, this far ahead of an official pre-order date. I also have a friend in Japan willing to pre-order and ship for me but I still have that panicked feeling of not wanting to miss my chance to own it. Thoughts?

    Darn, most of the Japanese sites are sold out. I DO live in Japan (Hi, it’s Kelley lol) but…. damn…. I only needed the Crystal star and Eternal Article to complete my uber wall display. $40 is so reasonable for that compact. I hope to get my hands on some of this merch in person as well.

      Yeah they took down the Mercury + Mars + Ring listings, I think they’re out of preorders! Yup, Amazon will have Mars available on or after Sept 2 (that’s the official preorder start date). Once the links are up I’ll add them here.

    I have no idea of their reputation, but bigbadtoystore is still offering the powder compact for sale.

    As far as my googling can tell, they seem to have a good reputation for selling figures.

      I have used them a lot and they are very good. Sometimes shipping can be pricey, but you have the option to have them hold your stuff and ship it all at once, so that helps (they can hold it for something like 6 months I believe, but don’t quote me on that.) I have had an order cancelled once because their supplier didn’t send them the stock, but they do let you know as soon as they do and don’t keep you waiting. 🙂

        Unfortunately, I received an email from BBTS today that they will be receiving less of the compact than what they have for pre-orders meaning that they won’t all be filled. They are trying to work to make sure that they will have enough supply to meet demand.

        Fingers crossed! I’ll cry if I can’t get the compact. It’s going for $140 on ebay right now! Ridiculous!

      hi i am looking to buy a compact or the star pendant somewhere in canada because my parents will not assist me in buying a collectible off ebay . is there any other stores that might sell the collectibles like a comic store or something?
