S.H. Figuarts Sailor Moon Imposter Version Zoisite
Remember the Zoisite Sailor Moon S.H. Figuarts figure first revealed at Wonder Festival 2015 Winter back in February? Turns out that figure is a Comic-Con (SDCC) exclusive! Those in Japan will have to rely on a lottery based sale on Premium Bandai. The official name of this figure is S.H.Figuarts Sailor Moon -Imposter Ver.-, the accessories will include a boomerang and a surprised-face Luna along with the usual interchangeable hands and faces. This will be available starting July 8. The retail price is $45USD.
Is anyone lucky enough to be attending SDCC? Any chance you can help me get one? ^^;;

In case anyone missed out on this, they are selling excess stock at the Bandai Tamashi booth at New York Comic Con. $55 each. I picked mine up today!

If anyone is still looking for this one, it’s on Amazon and eBay for $60-$80. I just got one for $60 plus shipping n eBay. A little pricier than it was at the convention, but it IS still available.
As for the people who are upset with it only having one Zoisite face . . . I don’t know, I think it might be fun to try to paint some faces for Zoisite using the extra Sailor Moon faces. But that’s just me. For someone like me, who is prone to losing small parts, the extra SM faces are a GOOD thing.

My boyfriend got it for me! I’m incredibly happy! He was also able to get me the moon stick proplica! It’s a great piece! Nice articulation, great posaility: soft enough to move yet stiff to hold the poses.
My only complaint is my forever figure curse: excess paint. 1st my Figuarts Sailor Moon 1st edition had blue on one of her twintails, then Venus had some white on het fuku, and other detals. Now my Luna Surprised face came with a big BIG! dot of white paint on the back of her head and a smaller one. Looked to me as if they rested her on a small puddle of not dry white paint and when they lifted her it left the spot. It’s so big yet it seems they didn’t even try to correct it or wipe it TTwTT

I’m just disappointed in the packaging for this… It’s a closed box( judging by the pics I’ve seen), so there’s no way to display it unless you open the package… They couldn’t have made it a window box? Disappointing…

The only thing I really like about this is the Luna (omg thaose eys!!). If it had proper zoisite faces and accessories (not just one face and a boomerang) I’d be more inclined to fork out for it but as it stands this isn’t worth the shelf space. I understand why it was done but just meh. I would however love to see Mina-moon from the ep where Venus pretends to be usagi. I would throw money at the screen for that!

Speaking of villains, I would buy beryl and nehelenia in a hot second. (Instead of waiting for price cuts or warehouse damaged items to pop up on amazon).
Maybe they’ll get around to some of the iconic villains? I mean, they’re basically out of heroes once they do eternal sm….

Why is it that no one seems to realize that THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT CONVENTION EXCLUSIVES ARE SUPPOSED TO BE!? A simple repaint of an existing mold that has appeal to completists and collectors. Bandai can more easily release a repaint than a wholly new molded character. If Beryl or The 4 Heavenly Kings were made to be convention exclusives, then so many people would be missing out on essential characters, and everyone would lament the fact. This is a very cool figure, I love that it is Zoisite disguised as a woman, because even though this design is solely seen in the anime, it still pays homage to the fact that Zoisite was disguised as a woman in an act of the manga. It’s a great acknowledgement of the diversity and open-mindedness that Sailor Moon encourages and cultivates in it’s fans. It is also very pleasing to actually have a villain for my Sailor Guardians to square off against. If the other S.H. Figuarts lines are any indicator (particularly Super Sentai and Kamen Rider), villains are few and far between. I hope we get EVERY ONE of our beloved heroes and villains, but in the meantime, I am happy with what we can get.

I agree full heartedly! I’m just sad the other faces are still Usagi’s and that I have NO WAY of getting to SDCC so I could get him. I am biased, though. Zoisite is one of my favorite Sailor Moon characters in general.

The Luna face is probably derived from the Luna-inspired clock the Dark Kingdom had in the episode where the enemy runs a clock business to gather energy.

I understand the rather underwhelming reaction for the figure but do you guys not realize that this is the first time that a Sailor Moon merch ISN’T really a Japan exclusive release? I feel like for the first time, the SM 20th Anniversary merch machine has acknowledge the Americas and its pleas for an (relatively) easier way to aquire merchandise (it’s just the feeling I have, feel free to tell me I’m wrong because maybe I am?). SDCC is not a random small convention, and they might be testing waters just to be on the safe side. Granted, this figure is a terrible way to start but let’s give them the benefit of the doubt. As someone mentioned already, getting negative reviews is better than no reviews at all, and I’m sure they will take our suggestions into consideration.

I’m pretty sure they have done this with other figuarts from other series. I know they’ve done it for Dragonball Z- so not the first time, but it’s really interesting.

TT I’m asking around to some of my friends going aahhh, luckily they know how much of a moonie I am. So I’m hoping to get two. I’d totally be down with sending you one if I am able to get my hands on two. A lot of my friends are actually going to either attend, work or has a booth. I’m not working for any of the SoCal conventions this year and those SDCC tickets sell out SUPER fast, so getting a chance to go sucks even more.

I hope I’m not being too harsh but… I do hope this figure gets negative feedback for all the Usagi’s faces and the Moon Tiara and Moon Sticks that are completely displaced in this box.
Anyways, as a collector I want this very much. It’s a must have for me since I love SH Figuarts and Sailor Moon villains.

I don’t think this figure can be compared to the release of the Shitennou or any other figure just because its being released in a singular event, not in a regular way. In other circumstances I would agree with you, for eg, if the petit chara merchandising of Black Moon wouldn’t sell well, that would not be good news for villain merchandising.
Also, negative reviews is better than having no reviews at all, it means the fans want it but they just didn’t like it some of the things on it.

Will I be buying this? Yes. But I’m really unimpressed by her. To me the only thing that is kind of cool is Luna has a different face. I saw a picture of the items that come with her and there is only one Zoicite face. I’m assuming that they put this together quick afterthought as a product, or they wanted to put something together quick for SDCC and they don’t have whatever is next ready. I’m partial to season one, so ehh, yeah it’s alright but I would much rather of have had someone else. To look on the bright side, I think that not a HUGE amount of people will want her. There is nothing worse than spending an arm and a leg to get a SDCC exclusive because it’s someone EVERYONE has to have. I do really hope that this is a teaser for getting Beryl and the generals.
