Sailor Moon Rainbow Moon Chalice Proplica Holy Grail
The official announcement of the Sailor Moon Rainbow Moon Chalice Proplica is here! Along with it are some photos! It is made to be 1:1 scale, the chalice measures around 17cm tall. This marks the fifth item in the Sailor Moon Proplica line. The Proplica line aims to create full-scale replicas meant for adult collectors. The chalice lights up and plays sounds. The sounds include background music and sound effects from the anime and Sailor Moon’s voice which will once again be voiced by Kotono Mitsuishi. When you open the lid, it reveals the silver crystal that can light up with multicolour LED lights. The top of the lid is see through so even when it’s closed you’ll still be able to see the lights. Requires 3 LR44 batteries.
The retail price is 10,800 yen and the scheduled release date is late February 2016. Stay tuned for more info and preorder links (should start Oct 8, 2015)!

Just got the Chalice a few weeks ago, I was soooo excited for this Proplica version but I was shocked to see the size of the chalice being so small !!! The photos were so misleading…
Really disappointed they didn’t make it bigger, at least almost like the Stallion Reve. Even though Proplica aims to create full scale replicas, it doesn’t seem quite full size like how it was shown in the anime. I think they dropped the ball on this one :/
Hoping they will make a more impressive version in the future but I highly doubt it.
If they ever do decide to do so, make it less shiny and glossy, more matte colors for the red cuz from a certain distance, it looks too shiny and loses the beautiful design of the grail. Also it would be badass if the Silver Crystal was removable from the Chalice so it would feel more real when I can put the Silver Crystal back inside and it still could produce flashing colors when you activate it.

Has anyone ordered from 1999.co.jp? I pre-ordered the Rainbow Moon Chalice Proplica back in October from them when they opened their pre-orders with a release date in February of 2016.
They’ve yet to charge my credit card!! Does anyone know the exact date of release for this item? I don’t want to find out 4 months later that I spent all this time thinking I was gonna be getting this item only for me not to end up with it at all 🙁

Aaaaahhhhh I don’t know if I should get the Chalice or the Cosmic Heart Compact. I know that the Cosmic Heart Compact doesn’t come out until May, but I don’t know when the preorder period would end for that at Bandai’s website.
This is unrelated, but I don’t know why but I keep expecting for that sound effect from Legend of Zelda when Link gains an item to come up after the Sailor Moon’s transformation music.

As disappointing as it would be if that was the only function, isn’t crisis make up the only scene we ever see the chalice being used / making sounds? The best I could think of Bandai doing would be to include an alternative sound without the voice clip.

This track is from the part where she transformed into Super Sailor Moon without the Holy Grail to save Hotaru/Sailor Saturn. They added a bonus track that had nothing to do with the Crystal Star Compact for the Crystal Star Compact Proplica, so I don’t see why not, right? xD

I got the Rainbow Moon Chalice Clip Case, the one made of metal with glass gems and the paperclips. I will definitely be getting this proplica since the Rainbow Moon Chalice is my favorite item from the series. I love that the scale is 1:1! Now for the Cosmic Moon and Crisis Heart compacts please!

But if I were to nitpick :3 isn’t the top of the crystal inside too flat? Looks weird, too toy-like. And personally, I expected the gems to be either leds (as on the Moon Stick Proplica) or faceted gems (as on the Crystal Star Proplica and the clip case). There is still a chance they are leds, though.

Wht a beautiful proplica, OMG, seriously i can’t even express how beautiful it is, i have been wanting to have a Holy Grail all my life since i was a kid and finally to have it in such a perfect shape, playing the sounds and the lights, i am so excited, so happy!!!! i will buy two, one to keep on display forever and the other one to keep safe and mint forever too, it’s gorgeous.
Not sure how i feel about the transparent lid that shows the lights, but to be honest it’s okay, lol everything is so perfect and pretty OMGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG

I remind my SO all the time that they should be ‘proud’ of me for the fact I’m not buying EVERYTHING that’s released for sailor moon. I’ve kept my collecting to the figurarts, the proplicas, dvd/bluray/manga. Though I do want the henshins for the senshi.
