Sailor Moon Crystal JINS Glasses Collaboration 2016
Here’s a new Sailor Moon item that’s very practical! JIN and Sailor Moon Crystal are collaborating on 8 pairs of eyeglasses! There are two product lines, a “Sailor Senshi” line and a “Premium” line. The Sailor Senshi line features bright colourful frames with a ribbon pattern. There are 6 designs to choose from: Moon, Mercury, Mars, Jupiter, Venus and Chibimoon. They come in a cute colour matching case. The glasses in this line are 7,900 yen each or 8,900 yen including the specially drawn cleaning cloth.
The Premium line features 2 styles: Princess Serenity and Silver Crystal. The Serenity glasses is inspired by her dress, ivory in colour, decorated with a Swarovski crystal and a crescent moon. The Silver Crystal glasses is in a silver-grey colour, decorated with a Swarovski crystal and the Silver Crystal. The Premium line has a more upscale classy feel, they can be used in a more formal setting. The glasses in this line are 12,000 yen each. They come with a pearly beige case and a cleaning cloth that says Sailor Moon Crystal.
These eyeglasses do not come with prescription lenses. You can get them changed to common prescriptions at JINS stores free of charge. If you need specific condition ones, you can get those too with additional charges. You can preorder them at Premium Bandai using a deputy service: step by step guide. These are scheduled for release in July 2016.
Also in this collaboration are cleaning cloths with specially drawn illustrations of the girls wearing these glasses. You can also use these to clean camera lenses and LCD screens. They measure around 23cm x 16cm. They’re made of 80% polyester and 20% nylon. If you want to buy the cloths alone, they are 1,000 yen each on Premium Bandai.

That’s great! I just added it to my cart. Never used a deputy service before. I’m using the From Japan service you requested. Do I have to deposit yen so that they can receive and place my order, or do I have to wait for the invoice and then pay there?

You don’t need to deposit yen, you wait for them to send you a Charge 1 invoice, pay it, and then they will order it.

I used the service that was suggested I got a few emails from the deputy service. When I was using that service the first order I didn’t get anything because I did’t select the purchasing from a website I had to select other when making the purchase. However after I fixed my error I got a charge one email that gave a summary and a price, I went on and made the payment. Then i got the charge one payment had been received. I put in some shipping information and a shipping instructed email came and then after they bought the product, I got the “Your Shopping Service Order Has Processed” and it was the confirmation they had purchased my item.

So I tried to place an order for the Princess Serenity glasses before they were sold out, but I never got any sort of sales receipt or confirmation that my order was placed and now when I visit the p bandai site the glasses were sold out. I’ve never used a deputy service before. Am I out of luck now even though when I placed my order the glasses were in stock?

Did you send a Charge 1 payment? If you did, they will order it and send you a confirmation email that your order was processed.

Nope. I ordered last night when both the premium glasses were still in stock. It took From Japan a while to actually get a quote for me so I could pay. I did so, but currently my order is STILL saying “pending”. Guess next time I want to order through a deputy service I’ll have to place my order ASAP.

Huge Sailor Moon fan here since age 8 (28 now), am I the only male that doesnt care about the fact theyre aimed at women? Heck, Im going to get a pair of the Sailor Moon and Sailor Jupiter frames and actually wear them. I dont care what anyone thinks. These are too awesome.

I actually emailed to ask, and they’ll do mail-in replacements so I imagine they’d do it in-store! The fee is $50, I don’t know if that’s separate from the prescription cost, but probably. I also believe you can get the lenses replaced at Walmart.

You could probably take them to Vision Works, or any similar eye glass store, and they could do it for you. They should be able to cut the lenses to size.

Okay, as a glasses-wearer I am super interested in these, but my inability to speak Japanese is actually really hurting me here! I’d totally order two pairs if I knew for sure they’d fit. I tried using google translate but it looks like a lot of the text is actually part of the images :(.
I’m looking for information about basically the width from temple to temple (to determine if they’d even fit my big gaijin head) and how long the earpieces are. Is that information anywhere?
Also, someone was asking about the price difference? On the main page for the glasses it shows two links- one for 7900 Y and one for 8900 Y. Based on the images it looks like the difference is that one has the cleaning cloth, and the cheaper one doesn’t. It looks like both come with cases, though!

I did some searching and info on the JINS site makes it sound like all the glasses are sold by default in the large size, which corresponds to 54□16-139○33. According to their size charts, a large will measure 140〜145mm across the front, depending on frame shape.
If you’re not sure what those measurements mean or what your measurements are there’s a guide here (just make sure to use google translate):

If you already wear plastic glasses, you can usually find your number printed on the inside temple piece. If you’re not sure what your measurements are, there are several guides online for measuring yourself (For example, this one: http://www.zennioptical.com/measure-eyeglass-frame-size-how-to)
But how big is the large? Well, I have a big head and nose (I often have trouble finding hats), but the glasses I currently wear are a 49-17-130 (my glasses don’t have a frame height measurement— I’m guessing that standard for Asian glasses but not Western, but that’s just a guess). But my measurements are smaller than their large in all but nose bridge!
As far as prescription lenses are concerned, you should be able to go to your optometrist or an eyeglass seller and have lenses put in. I do know that the site indicates the frames will not accommodate some special types of lenses like bifocals. But generally, glasses stores will cut lenses to fit whatever frames you bring them, so long as you have a valid prescription for the lenses you need! [Lots of people do this with frames purchased online, so I’m guessing eyeglasses stores are used to it. Still, check with your local place before purchasing, just to be sure!]
One final word of caution — on the website they claim that their glasses are “designed to fit the face and head shapes of Japanese. Studying the Japanese skull structure as well as the subtle curves of nose pads and arms, we have come to offer an ever comfortable fit for Japanese.” I’m not sure how much that *really* matters, so long as you fit the measurements, but be forewarned that if you are not Asian, these glasses were not designed to fit your face and might not fit or be comfortable. Still, I’m going to take my chances because they are super cute and actually pretty affordable!

I don’t need/wear glasses but this are amazing! I love the design, would completly buy if I needed some.
Also the new artwork – on the group picture it still leaves me unsure of some elements but on the cloths, praise the new chibiusa design! I really like how Minako looks on the cloth art especially and Usagi’s hair looks so much lighter/not as stiff.
Looking forward to seeing more from these updated character designs now~
