    The art at the exhibit was amazing, but if you look at amazon.jp this book is getting terrible reviews for lack of content. I wonder what’s actually in it?

      I bought it but I’m disappointed! This is not an art book, it is just a book with pictures of the merchandise, info about the exhibition, characters and voice actors.. It is like a catalogue! If they would have announced it as a catalogue I would be happy, but when I bought it I was expecting a book with art and beautiful materials..

        It was never advertised as an artbook though, it was advertised as a guidebook. If you read the description it mentions interviews, merchandise pictures, info on the exhibition, etc. How come you expected an artbook? Just curious ^^;;

    Honestly, I think the Materials Collection was one of the best “guidebooks” to Sailormoon’s manga world. I wish they would reprint it, I was too young to be online shopping at that time xD

      I agree 100%; the Materials Collection is AMAZING. Unfortunately, it’s now impossible to get unless you’re willing to shell out $500 (seriously, it goes for that much). It getting a reprint and becoming more widely available would be a dream come true.

    Maybe I can ask for this as a birthday gift. Since it comes out 3 days before my birthday. Has there been any previews of the pages for this yet?

    I always had dreamed Naoko would get some muse and release a new Sailor Moon artbook which includes the kanzenban manga cover illustrations as well as completely new artwork never seen before. So when I saw this cover I got all excited. Sad it’s not an actual artbook though.

      I felt the exact same. I almost thought I remembered them mentioning a new artbook even (years ago, by now??), but alas. Here’s to hoping it could still happen though! I absolutely adore her new art, so I would love for her to do more.

        Yeah, Kodansha had mentioned an artbook a few years ago that was supposed to be a global release and a mix of new and old artwork and it never happened, which was a giant bummer. Thought this was it but sadly doesn’t seem to be.

    So it sounds like it will be more of a guidebook than an artbook… not that that’s a bad thing at all, I just can’t read Japanese D:

    Awesome! I hope it’s really good, with concept art and stuff for it similar to what they gave you for The Legend of Zelda 25th Anniversary book, Hyrule Historia. Not sure if it’s supposed to be like that, though. Either way I’m happy about it. ^.^ Thanks.
